Ouch!

Have you ever been at a place in life where you felt safe, secure and free and out of nowhere OUCH! a comment - even an innocent suggestion causes your heart and mind to recoil from the sting. Yeah, that is me.
_________________________________________________________________________

Ouch!
Why do those words cause such a spasm.
The reaction doesn't match their collection of:
content, context, and action.

These old wounds take longer to heal,
than I thought or suspected - so what's the deal?

Sting!
I suppose this is part of the process.
Part of the healing.
Healing isn't numbness.

These old wounds are making themselves known.
Why can't these feelings just leave me alone.

Band-aid.
What and who will be my protection?
Rest and patience are written for my prescription.

These old wounds are unpredictable like a charlie horse or
a funny bone - shocking and not so funny.

Ouch!
Coming back to life from the dead isn't painless.
Time is required for my resurrected heart to relearn how to listen, live and learn.
Knee jerk reactions are the first movement you see.
For a heart that once was captive, but now is living free.

St. Brigid Blessings on the Threshold

In preparation for St. Brigid’s day, I consider the blessings that are with us on the threshold.  What are the blessings, neither at the beginning or end, but in the middle.  In transitional spaces that take up most of our days? I think that the threshold can be a space of healing. An opportunity to see things in a new way. A river that takes us to new places of grace. May you feel the presence of love in your thresholds. May it flow from all our beginnings through to each end. May the space of threshold be a balm like lavender, healing our battle wounds. May we find healing in the inbetween. Healing lives on the threshold. #blessings #stbrigid #taralamontart
