Well, most of the time a prefer tea sans the hair, but I stumbled across a great blog called, "Hair in my coffee" by Kristin Russell. $39.00 for glasses?

Here are my new specs from 39dollarglasses.com - thanks to my eye glasses wearing friend , I got a good deal on some newly needed glasses as my script has now placed me in the full-time wear category (maybe it's all the blog writing that has got my eyes here?) The service was fast (ordered the specs on Tuesday of this week and they arrived by Friday!), I was impressed with the quality of the glasses, and though mine were more than the $39.00 due to heavier duty frames and lens coating; they seem to be well worth the cost of $73.00 including shipping. My daughter also was upgraded to glasses and loves her tortoise shell retro frames.

The ups and downs of Livity

Last June I was shopping for a sturdy backpack for a trip I was taking later in the summer and stumbled across a lovely black-and-aqua-not-to-big-and-not-too-small backpack that was made by the Livity company which is centered on making quality merchandise that is responsibly created and constructed to last. Here is a excerpt from the home page of their website . LiViTY is a positive, healthy lifestyle. Our products and message reflect our core values of sustainability and unity. All of our apparel and accessories are designed using organic, renewable and recycled materials and are produced in equitable trade. Livity’s 2010 collection is an expression of our commitment to conscious living and creativity. I did not purchase the back pack when I found it because it went beyond the $40.00 mark at my local Wegman's Nature's Marketplace. We were supposed to receive a bag at the event I was attending, so I tabled the idea of buying the new one. A few months later, I found the bag ...

The Middle Place and designer jeans

This last weekend, I had the opportunity and time to hit the mall and wander around my local Walden books/Borders store. I was there with my daughter as she was picking out a few books for part of her birthday gift. They had a decent sale going on, so I ended up with two books of my own as I left the store that day. One was "The Unlikely Disciple" by Kevin Roose, a journalistic expose on his incognito semester at Liberty University (which I just started today) and another up and coming book called, "The Middle Place" by Kelly Corigan. About two weeks ago, a woman at the bookstore had suggested this book to me. Upon hearing that the book was based on the author's real-life dealings with cancer, I decided against it - I thought something more upbeat would be better to read. This weekend, yet another woman at the book store tells me that "The Middle Place" is a must read. Either I was overcome with book greed or the red buy one get one sticker went to ...
