Say hello to our little friend

We met Aggie last Saturday when a local restaurant owner of Cooper's,(Who's business helps to support the Humane Society by donating all their tips to the organization.) made sure to tell me there was a very sweet dog at our local chapter.

At her request, we went to visit Aggie and I'm happy to tell that on Tuesday evening we brought her home with us. It's been an exciting few days of remembering dog commands, going for "rides" in the car, snuggling on the sofa in the evening while she snores and going for an early morning jog every day - all in all we are getting to know each other rather well.

What is best, is I think the whole household is happy about the new addition: both human and canine.

Welcome Agatha Christie Eastman, otherwise known as Aggie. She is a two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle Mix who was a stray in Chautauqua County. She was brought to the Chautauqua County Humane Society and surrendered after she had a litter of pups. Happily, not only Aggie but all her pups have found homes.

Thank you to Kaluha - our first pup from the Shelter that we had the joy of having in our home for twelve years. You taught us more than you will ever know. We never will forget you. (RIP August 4, 2009.) I think you too would be happy that we have found a new friend.

St. Brigid Blessings on the Threshold

In preparation for St. Brigid’s day, I consider the blessings that are with us on the threshold.  What are the blessings, neither at the beginning or end, but in the middle.  In transitional spaces that take up most of our days? I think that the threshold can be a space of healing. An opportunity to see things in a new way. A river that takes us to new places of grace. May you feel the presence of love in your thresholds. May it flow from all our beginnings through to each end. May the space of threshold be a balm like lavender, healing our battle wounds. May we find healing in the inbetween. Healing lives on the threshold. #blessings #stbrigid #taralamontart
