Scrabble cup cakes and Seminary

Image found @: The Cupcake Blog

Someday,
when I graduate from Seminary I want to
celebrate with "Scrabble" cup cakes.
Because, the only way I'll make it to graduation day
is one letter, word and sentence at a time.

Earlier this week, I applied to the "Castle" Wartburg Seminary's:
TEEM program (Theological Education for Emerging Ministries).

Lot's of work had already gone into getting to this point.
(Three years of essays, prayer, interviews, and more have gone into
this discernment process that is called " ELCA Candidacy".)

Good thoughts, prayers, and maybe a Scrabble game or two
are welcome as I wait to hear if I start classes in September.

One letter, word and sentence at a time.
Seminary? Yes. Seminary.
It feels good to share this word with you.
:)

Wartburg?! Just up the road from New Melleray! Wow--I can do more than hope, I can tell G-d what a NIFTY deal that'd be for you and that passion He instilled in you......

Wow......Wartburg! You'd be very content (I'll warn ya about the winters later......LOL).

Mel - I got in to Wartburg. An online class will begin for me next week! For now I'll be working at a distance, but I have a possible intensive in October.
Are you close by?
That would be amazing synchronicity if this is the case...but somehow just the assurance I need.

Mel,

I visited the Abbey in New Melleray when I visited last fall. We should make plans to meet up in spring 2014!

St. Brigid Blessings on the Threshold

In preparation for St. Brigid’s day, I consider the blessings that are with us on the threshold.  What are the blessings, neither at the beginning or end, but in the middle.  In transitional spaces that take up most of our days? I think that the threshold can be a space of healing. An opportunity to see things in a new way. A river that takes us to new places of grace. May you feel the presence of love in your thresholds. May it flow from all our beginnings through to each end. May the space of threshold be a balm like lavender, healing our battle wounds. May we find healing in the inbetween. Healing lives on the threshold. #blessings #stbrigid #taralamontart
