Color Quiz: Violet is my color - what's yours?

My watercolor painting, Deep Roots".

After all the painting in my office last week, I've been thinking about color. The colors I choose for my office were spice, cream and eggplant. Only after looking at my office, then looking at the colors on my blog background, and then taking the following color quiz; I'm finally convinced that Violet, yup violet is my color.

My mixed media painting, "Jesus Walks".

As I look around I keep finding splashes of it everywhere. In what I've been painting, in what I've been wearing and what I had painted on my office walls. The spectrum of my violet tendencies range from red - to fuchsia - to indigo blue - to plum. It's interesting too, that the personality portion of this quiz seems to be just about on track.

I would anticipate the answer of the 10-13 year old girls in my youth group what their favorite color was. Ninety percent of the time would hear them chime in almost in unison. "PURPLE!" I guess some colors you never outgrow.

you are violet
#EE82EE

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

Most interesting. I was Medium Aquamarine. Huh? I thought the results were pretty accurate, although I am definitely not a fan of aquamarine. But now I really want to go home and drag out the watercolors. Thanks for the inspiration. And that's funny about the girls' color choice, yep - you got them pegged!

St. Brigid Blessings on the Threshold

In preparation for St. Brigid’s day, I consider the blessings that are with us on the threshold.  What are the blessings, neither at the beginning or end, but in the middle.  In transitional spaces that take up most of our days? I think that the threshold can be a space of healing. An opportunity to see things in a new way. A river that takes us to new places of grace. May you feel the presence of love in your thresholds. May it flow from all our beginnings through to each end. May the space of threshold be a balm like lavender, healing our battle wounds. May we find healing in the inbetween. Healing lives on the threshold. #blessings #stbrigid #taralamontart
