Bicycle weather - let's ride!

All this sunshine and non-freezing spring weather has got me thinking about trying to ride a bike to work this summer. I don't have and haven't ridden a bike in too many years to say, but I'm pondering the possibility.

Most of my research has been steered in the direction of purchasing a 'commuter' or 'hybrid' bike. I've seen the prices rages from anywhere from $500.00 to a friend's lucky find at a garage sale for fifty bucks. These bikes are built for hills, comfort and making it possible to arrive at work greenly as well as not being super sweaty.

If you have any suggestions on the bike quest and all the possibility's it offers, drop me a line and help me out. I'm looking for a mid-range, possibly used, either a 17 or 18 inch size, and a not too big price tag too. Thanks.

Gosh--I rode my 10 speed all over the place. And then suddenly quit.

The thought of climbing back on it scares me.

Changing Seasons and New Call

Changing seasons and Change of Pastoral Call… For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1  It is with great joy that I share exciting news of a vocational change. St. Brigid Blessings on the Threshold

In preparation for St. Brigid’s day, I consider the blessings that are with us on the threshold.  What are the blessings, neither at the beginning or end, but in the middle.  In transitional spaces that take up most of our days? I think that the threshold can be a space of healing. An opportunity to see things in a new way. A river that takes us to new places of grace. May you feel the presence of love in your thresholds. May it flow from all our beginnings through to each end. May the space of threshold be a balm like lavender, healing our battle wounds. May we find healing in the inbetween. Healing lives on the threshold. #blessings #stbrigid #taralamontart
